Two survivors of the Marvi Marmara aid ship led a demonstration of over 500 in Manchester last Sunday. They addressed an emotional rally.
Paveen Yaqub, from Oldham, told how "Israeli commandos executed unarmed civilians". In tears she told how her friend was killed. "He was armed only with a camera but the Israelis wanted to stop the truth of what happened coming out so they shot him in the face several times".
Babu Adam Zanghar, who tried to take aid collected from across Bolton was on board when the Israelis commanders attacked. "They are are the number one terrorists in the world" he said. 'They were on a mission to kill." The Israelis took his mobile phones, his camcorder. He was tied up for hours and witnessed people being beaten and abused.
From CND Rae Street pointed out that 'it is Israel that has the nuclear weapons in the Middle East."
FBU secretary Kevin Brown said "My union the Fire Brigades Union fully supports this protest. I remember how we built a movement that helped defeat Apartheid South Africa. We need today to build a movement of Boycot, Disinvestment and Sanctions against Israel.
