Stop the War in Manchester has called a protest for this Friday from 5.30pm outside the BBC.
'We will not allow protesters demanding democracy and reform to be frightened off the streets. We will stand side by side with the Bahrani people. We will be their 'human shields!'
'For ten years there has been anti war protests outside the BBC in Manchester. We have protested over the war on Iraq, the Lebanon and Gaza, and for human rights in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Bahrain.
'We call on every one in Manchester who believes in human rights and democracy, we appeal to all the people from the communities living here from across Middle East and North Africa to join us on Friday.
'We can not allow protesters to be intimidated off the streets.'
Nahella Ashraf, Chair of Greater Manchester Stop the War Coalition.
