Gadaffi the ruler of Libya for 42 years signed up to support the West in their 'war on terror'. He became a 'friend' of Bush and Blair. Britain sold him arms and traded in gas and oil.
Libyan people have been protesting across the country, inspired by the Revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia they too now are demanding and end to dictatorship. Using heavy weapons and the army Gadaffi has killed many protesters. In Manchester there have been protests of hundreds every day outside the BBC against the repression and murder in Libya.
